The Navy will be conducting Exercise SOLID CURTAIN-CITADEL SHIELD 2012 this week, which will result in greatly increased security at the Washington Navy Yard. This annual exercise is designed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy Security Forces to respond to threats to installations and units. Exercise SOLID CURTAIN-CITADEL SHIELD 2012 is not in response to any specific threat, but is a regularly-scheduled exercise. As a result, both the National Navy Museum and the Museum Store will be closed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 22-24 March. The Museum will reopen at 10:00 am on Sunday, 25 March, 2012.
