Home School at the Museum: Crew Safety

April 16, 2012 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

How do you protect pilots from injury if their plane crashes or they must eject? Students will learn about crew systems, which keep our pilots safe in the event of an emergency. Participants will construct an egg drop vehicle and test the strength to see if their “pilot” will survive the fall.

All home school families without military ID or base decals on their cars should use the 11th and O St. SE gate to enter the Washington Navy Yard. Driving directions and maps of the Navy Yard are available at: www.history.navy.mil/branches/org8_Visit.htm
