USS Constitution Museum Bicentennial Lecture Series: “Isaac Hull in Love,” with Linda M. Maloney

Visit the USS Constitution Museum on Captain Isaac Hull’s birthday as Linda Maloney, author of the soon-to-be re-released biography, The Captain from Connecticut: The Life and Naval Times of Isaac Hull, takes you on a visit with Hull between wars, revealing his complex social life and search for love. Maloney brings the man in the miniature to life. Book signing and reception to follow.
Linda M. Maloney, a native of Houston, Texas, graduated from St. Louis University (A.B., M.A., Ph.D.) and from Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, Germany (Th.D.). Her first publication on the life of Isaac Hull was an article in the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings on the 150th anniversary of the battle between Constitution and Guerriere, in 1962. Maloney taught American history in colleges and universities from 1968-1979 and New Testament theology in graduate faculties from 1988-1995. She was academic editor at Liturgical Press 1995-2005. Ordained a priest of the Episcopal Church in 2003, Maloney has served mainly in the Diocese of Vermont. Her principal work, The Captain from Connecticut: The Life and Naval Times of Isaac Hull, was first published in 1986 by Northeastern University Press and will be reissued by the Naval Institute Press in February 2013.
